This programme will suit students wishing to develop a broad range of tourism, events and business skills. It will provide you with the necessary knowledge and insights to develop an understanding of managing hospitality organisations more effectively.

Modules include Principles of Gastronomy, Organisational Consultancy, Developing Niche Markets, On Licensed Premises Management, Strategic Food and Beverage Management and Contemporary Themes in Tourism, Hospitality and Events.

Entry Requirements

Successful completion of the HND or Foundation Degree (FD) in International Tourism and Event Management.

If you hold a HND or FD in another subject area, entry onto the course is determined by the modules you have achieved. 

Career Prospects

You may progress to a variety of postgraduate tourism and events related courses.

Graduates have employment prospects in a wide range of tourism and events disciplines, for example: conferencing and events management, tourism and planning consultancy, tour operations, the airline industry, marketing and consultancy.

You will usually have to complete portfolios, presentations and coursework as you progress, and one module requires an exam at the end of the academic year.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is ‘a method of assessment that considers whether an individual can demonstrate that they can meet the assessment requirements for a unit through knowledge, understanding or skills that they already possess and do not need to develop through a course of learning’. If individuals can produce relevant evidence, that fully meets learning outcome requirements then RPL can be given for their existing knowledge, understanding or skills.
