This programme will suit students interested in computing, information systems, and e-commerce. The programme builds upon the HND in Computing or a relevant Level 5 qualification. Computers are fundamental to many industries and you will develop skills in many fields.

Modules include: Business Intelligence and Data Mining, Usability Engineering, Geographical Information Systems, Information Systems Strategy and Research and Development Methods. 

Entry Requirements

Successful completion of the HND Computing and Systems Development or a similar HND / Foundation Degree (FD) in a computer related discipline.

If you hold a HND or FD in another subject area, entry onto the course is determined by the modules you have achieved.  

Career Prospects

You may progress to a variety of postgraduate computer related courses. Graduates have employment prospects in a wide range of ICT disciplines, for example: application development, software engineer, software developers, business systems analysis, database development and administration and information systems consultancy and management.

You will have to complete written assignments as you progress through the programme. Two modules have an exam and a research project is required.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is ‘a method of assessment that considers whether an individual can demonstrate that they can meet the assessment requirements for a unit through knowledge, understanding or skills that they already possess and do not need to develop through a course of learning’. If individuals can produce relevant evidence, that fully meets learning outcome requirements then RPL can be given for their existing knowledge, understanding or skills.
