This course provides a comprehensive coaching & development programme that combines sporting interest with a successful vocational academic curriculum. In addition to studying the main units, students will have the opportunity to implement what they learn in the classroom within the local community. This will be achieved through working as active leaders within the local primary schools, assisting children/adults with disabilities and supporting the local Sports Development Unit. Students will also complete UK Sports Leaders Award L2 & L3.

Entry Requirements

You will need 5 relevant GCSE's at Grade C or above or an appropriate BTEC L2 Diploma with a Merit/Distinction grade.

Career Prospects

There are a number of job opportunities locally, nationally and internationally including Sports Centres, Fitness Centres, Outdoor Activity Centres and Sports Development and Coaching with local authorities. On successful completion of university courses students now work in the following areas: Primary, Secondary & FE Teaching, Coaching, Sports Massage Therapists and working in the Leisure Industry.
