This programme will suit students wishing to develop a broad range of tourism, events and business skills. It will provide you with the necessary knowledge and insight to develop an understanding of managing tourism and event organisations more effectively.

Modules include Organisational Consultancy, Developing Niche Markets, Contemporary Themes in Tourism, Hospitality and Events, Impacts and development of Festivals and Events, Global Tourism and Destination Management and Thana Tourism.

Entry Requirements

Successful completion of the HND or Foundation Degree (FD) in International Tourism and Event Management.

If you hold a HND or FD in another subject area, entry onto the course is determined by the modules you have achieved.

You may be able to demonstrate or have certificated prior learning that can be legitimately used to establish a later entry point into the course or provide exemption from modules. If you believe this is the case please contact the Course leader as soon as possible to discuss a recognition of prior learning application.

Career Prospects

You may progress to a variety of postgraduate tourism and events related courses.

Graduates have employment prospects in a wide range of tourism and events disciplines, for example: conferencing and events management, tourism and planning consultancy, tour operations, the airline industry, marketing and consultancy.

The programme will usually include lectures and tutorial sessions. You will usually have to complete portfolios, presentations and coursework as you progress, and one module requires an exam at the end of the academic year.

You are required to provide sufficient stationery for to support your teaching and learning. Printing charges are 0.02p per black and white A4 and 0.06p for a colour A4. On enrolment you are allocated 3.00 for printing costs on your student ID card. Additional credits can be purchased in the libraries

International visit usually 300-600 and event resources usually around 20.
