This programme will suit students who wish to develop a broad knowledge, skills and work-related experience in the fundamental elements of music performance and the modern day music industry.

Modules include: Ensemble and Instrumental Practice, Computer Based Music, Listening in Context, Live and Studio Recording and Community Music.

Entry Requirements

Entry criteria detail a typical offer but the College considers all applications on an individual basis which means that we could make offers based on qualifications, personal profile and experience. If you have any queries regarding your offer please contact our Admissions Team.

Typical offer: 2 A Levels at C grade or 3 A Levels at DDD or MM /MMP profile from a BTEC Level 3 qualification and five GCSEs at Grade C or above, to include English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications).

You may be able to demonstrate or have certificated prior learning that can be legitimately used to establish a later entry point into the course or provide exemption from modules. If you believe this is the case please contact the Course leader as soon as possible to discuss a recognition of prior learning application.

Career Prospects

The recognised progression route for this programme is the BA (Hons) Music (Performance and Production).

Graduates have employment prospects in a diverse range of media companies as well as the music industry, for example: broadcasting, music engineering, music production, post-production and editing and studio management.

Assessment

The programme will include lectures, practicals, studio workshop and tutorial sessions. You will have to complete presentations, written assignments and practical assessments, including live performances, and recordings and scores of arrangements and compositions.

You are required to provide sufficient stationery for to support your teaching and learning. Printing charges are 0.02p per black and white A4 and 0.06p for a colour A4. On enrolment you are allocated 3.00 for printing costs on your student ID card. Additional credits can be purchased in the libraries
