This programme will suit students wishing to develop a broad range of tourism, events and business skills. It will provide you with the necessary knowledge and insight to develop an understanding of managing tourism and events organisations more effectively.

Modules in year one include: Applied Personal and Professional Development, Hospitality and Guest Services, Marketing Essentials, Management and Organisational Behaviour, Introduction to Hospitality, Tourism and Events and Operations Management for Leisure, Events, Tourism and Sport, Managing Festivals, Conventions and Events, Sustainable Tourism, Culture, Heritage and Arts Management, International Travel Operations.

Entry Requirements

Entry criteria detail a typical offer but the College considers all applications on an individual basis which means that we could make offers based on qualifications, personal profile and experience. If you have any queries regarding your offer please contact our Admissions Team.

Typical offer: 1 A Level at C grade or 2 A levels at E grade or above, or MP/PPP profile from a BTEC Level 3 qualification and five GCSEs at Grade C or above, to include English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications).

You may be able to demonstrate or have certificated prior learning that can be legitimately used to establish a later entry point into the course or provide exemption from modules. If you believe this is the case please contact the Course leader as soon as possible to discuss a recognition of prior learning application.

Career Prospects

The recognised progression route is the BA (Hons) in International Tourism and Events Management.

Graduates have employment prospects in a wide range of tourism and events disciplines, for example: conferencing and events management, tourism and planning consultancy, tour operations, the airline industry, marketing and consultancy.

This programme is awarded by University of Wales Trinity St. David.


The programme will include lectures, fieldwork, practical and tutorial sessions. You will usually have to complete portfolios, presentations and written assignments as you progress, and normally sit exams at the end of each academic year.

You are required to provide sufficient stationery for to support your teaching and learning. Printing charges are 0.02p per black and white A4 and 0.06p for a colour A4. On enrolment you are allocated 3.00 for printing costs on your student ID card. Additional credits can be purchased in the libraries

International visit usually 300-600 and event resources usually around 20.
