This programme is designed to offer a HE progression route for students who have completed Level 3 vocational qualifications in areas such as Hair & Beauty, Catering & Hospitality, Construction & Built Environment etc. The programme would also be suitable for small business owners or self employed who operate in the service sector.

Modules include: Work and organisational behaviour, strategic business analysis, the management of financial information, sector research skills and project, work-based learning (in relevant service sector industry), managing an enterprise, managing customers and quality and the business context.

Entry Requirements

Entry criteria detail a typical offer but the College considers all applications on an individual basis which means that we could make offers based on qualifications, personal profile and experience. If you have any queries regarding your offer please contact our Admissions Team.

Typical offer: 2 A Levels at D grade or MP/PPP profile from a BTEC Level 3 qualification and three GCSEs at Grade C or above, to include English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications).

You may be able to demonstrate or have certificated prior learning that can be legitimately used to establish a later entry point into the course or provide exemption from modules. If you believe this is the case please contact the Course leader as soon as possible to discuss a recognition of prior learning application.

The recognised progression route for this course is the BA (Hons) Business Studies - top up degree.

The programme will include lectures, seminars, active/simulation based software and work based learning You will usually have to complete written assignments, individual and group presentations, case studies and work based learning portfolios. Some modules require classroom tests and exams.

You are required to provide sufficient stationery for to support your teaching and learning. Printing charges are 0.02p per black and white A4 and 0.06p for a colour A4. On enrolment you are allocated 3.00 for printing costs on your student ID card. Additional credits can be purchased in the libraries
