BSc (Hons) Care Studies - Top up Degree

This programme will suit students wishing to develop a broad range of knowledge and skills relevant to Health and Social Care. It will provide you with the necessary knowledge and insight to develop an understanding of managing health and social care organisations more effectively.

Modules include Research Approaches in Social and Child Care, Inter-professional Working, Welsh Context of Social Care, Public Health and Dissertation.

Entry Requirements

Successful completion of the HND or Foundation Degree (FD) in Care Studies.

If you hold a HND or FD in another subject area, entry onto the course is determined by the modules you have achieved.

This programme requires an enhanced DBS check, charged at an additional cost to the student.

You may be able to demonstrate or have certificated prior learning that can be legitimately used to establish a later entry point into the course or provide exemption from modules. If you believe this is the case please contact the Course leader as soon as possible to discuss a recognition of prior learning application.

Career Prospects

You may progress to a variety of postgraduate health and social care related courses.

Graduates have employment prospects in a wide range of health and social care disciplines, for example: Support Workers and Assistants, Community Engagement Officers and Youth Workers.

You are required to provide sufficient stationery for to support your teaching and learning. Printing charges are 0.02p per black and white A4 and 0.06p for a colour A4.
