HNC Computing & Systems Development

This programme will suit students who are working or who wish to work in the computing industry. Computers are fundamental to many industries and you will develop skills in many fields.

Modules include: Business Skills for e-Commerce, Computer Systems, Employability and Professional Development, Website Design, Systems Analysis and Design and Database Design Concepts.

Entry Requirements

Entry criteria detail a typical offer but the College considers all applications on an individual basis which means that we could make offers based on qualifications, personal profile and experience. If you have any queries regarding your offer please contact our Admissions Team.

Learners should be at least 18 years of age and possess the folowing - 2 A levels at E grade or PP/PPP profile from BTEC Level 3 qualification and 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, to include English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications).. Mature learners who do not have formal qualifications at level 3, but can demonstrate relevant work experience in, and/or achievement of, a range of progessional qualifications in computing or ICT, are also welcome to apply.

You may be able to demonstrate or have certificated prior learning that can be legitimately used to establish a later entry point into the course or provide exemption from modules. If you believe this is the case please contact the Course leader as soon as possible to discuss a recognition of prior learning application.

Career Prospects

The recognised progression route is the HND in Computing and Systems Development.

Graduates have employment prospects in ICT related disciplines, for example: software engineers, software developers, information managers, website designers and technical support.

You are required to provide sufficient stationery for to support your teaching and learning. Printing charges are 0.02p per black and white A4 and 0.06p for a colour A4. On enrolment you are allocated 3.00 for printing costs on your student ID card. Additional credits can be purchased in the libraries
