HND Computing & Systems Development

This programme will suit students who wish to develop a career in the exciting and ever-changing IT sector.

Year 1 Modules include: Business Skills for e-Commerce, Computer Systems, Database Concepts, Employability and Professional Development, Website Design, Systems Analysis and Design, Event Driven Programming Solutions. Year 2 Modules include Project design implementation and evaluation, Data Analysis and Design, Digital Image Creation and Development, Informations Systems in Organisations, Web applications Development, Networking Infrastructures.

Entry Requirements

Entry criteria detail a typical offer but the College considers all applications on an individual basis which means that we could make offers based on qualifications, personal profile and experience. If you have any queries regarding your offer please contact our Admissions Team.

Typical offer: 2 A Levels at E grade or PP/PPP profile from a BTEC Level 3 qualification and five GCSEs at Grade C or above, to include English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications).

You may be able to demonstrate or have certificated prior learning that can be legitimately used to establish a later entry point into the course or provide exemption from modules. If you believe this is the case please contact the Course leader as soon as possible to discuss a recognition of prior learning application.

Career Prospects

The recognised progression route is the BA (Hons) in Computing and Information Systems.

Graduates have employment prospects in Computing or ICT related disciplines, for example: software engineers, software developers, information managers, website designers and technical support.

You are required to provide sufficient stationery for to support your teaching and learning. Printing charges are 0.02p per black and white A4 and 0.06p for a colour A4. On enrolment you are allocated 3.00 for printing costs on your student ID card. Additional credits can be purchased in the libraries
