Level 4 Certificate in Advanced Welding Technology (subject to validation)

This programme would suit students who wish to improve their practical skills and academic knowledge in the field of welding technology.

Modules include: Manual Welding Processes, Fabrication & Welding Science, Strength of Fabricated Joints, Computer Aided Design for Fabrication and Welding and Industrial Project.

Entry Requirements

Entry criteria detail a typical offer but the College considers all applications on an individual basis which means that we could make offers based on qualifications, personal profile and experience. If you have any queries regarding your offer please contact our Admissions Team.

Typical offer: 1 A Level at E grade or PP/PPP profile from a BTEC Level 3 qualification and five GCSEs at Grade C or above, to include English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications).

You may be able to demonstrate or have certificated prior learning that can be legitimately used to establish a later entry point into the course or provide exemption from modules. If you believe this is the case please contact the Course leader as soon as possible to discuss a recognition of prior learning application.

Career Prospects

You may progress to a variety of welding technology, welding engineering or welding and fabrication related courses at HND or foundation degree level.

Graduates have employment prospects in welding engineering related disciplines, for example: welding instructors, welding inspectors, welding supervisors and professional consultants.

This programme will include lectures, practical workshop and tutorial sessions. You will mainly complete written assignments and practical assessments as you progress through the programme. An Industrial Placement is required.

You are required to provide sufficient stationery for to support your teaching and learning. Printing charges are 0.02p per black and white A4 and 0.06p for a colour A4.
