Student Engagement

Student Engagement

The College will be introducing a Students Union during 2015/16. In the meantime the College engages with students through:

Student Representatives

Each Higher Education programme elects a student representative. These students represent the programme on the Higher Education Student Parliament.

HE Student Parliament

The student representatives from each Higher Education programme form the Highr Education Student Parliament. Meetings usually take place on a termly basis by videoconference. The Chair of this group sits on the Higher Education Management Group

Module Reviews

These are completed following the learning, teaching and assessment of every Higher Education module you study at the College. Summaries of each module review are presented for scrutiny at the Higher Education Management Group.

Staff Student Consultative Committee

These meetings take place once a term and require the attendance of staff teams and all students from the programme. The meetings are formally recorded and feed into the Higher Education Management Group and back to the partner university.

Vocal Eyes

This mechanism allows students to comment on any aspect of their course and for the college to capture it and action if necessary. Vocal Eyes can be accessed through the College’s Moodle site.

Annual Programme Review

Each cohort of students is asked to contribute to the annual programme review and a group of students attend the scrutiny meetings (where applicable) at the university partner.

Moodle and Email

There is a Higher Education page on Moodle and a direct email address: for communication and feedback purposes. You said, we did pages appear on the Higher Education Moodle site.

Student feedback is considered at the Higher Education Management group and then the Learning and Performance Management Group. These are further considered at Senior Management Team and Governor Meetings as appropriate.
